A grant not only helped science come alive for about 650 chemistry students at Vista Murrieta High School this month, but it also led the way to producing some surprising results.
It appears high levels of radon, a heavy radioactive gas formed by the decay of uranium, is more common in Murrieta homes than previously thought, according to the results of the students' recent experiment. The results are scheduled to be presented tonight by students at the school.
