Tenants, take note regarding radon

Date Published: 04/10/2007 [Source]

I am not a scientist. I am not a professor. I am not a Department of Environmental Conservation worker. I am an average citizen who until a few years ago was totally uneducated about an issue that, in my opinion, is essential for all of us to educate ourselves about.

Four years ago, on a wintry day, I stopped by the "Home Show" off Hanshaw Road. As I walked through the building, browsing all the wonderful exhibits, I came upon a radon information booth. I was informed that radon exposure was the second leading cause of lung cancer. That got my attention! I learned that abatement of radon needs to be accomplished if the levels in your living space are 4pCi/l or above.
