Radon has been called the silent killer. Statistics show it is the second leading cause of lung cancer in the United States. In fact, maps show the Redwood area as a highly susceptible area for the occurrence of radon.
The hope, said Redwood County Environmental Of-ficer Jon Mitchell, is to get a wide base of people to take the test, put them in their homes and then send them off for testing.
