Iowa City's plan to require radon testing in all single-family detached and duplex rental units has been pushed back to July 1, 2021.
City leaders said they are delaying the requirement to reduce contact between staff and the public to help limit the exposure and spread of COVID-19.
The city announced the new policy in January as a step toward improving public health.
Property owners are encouraged to use the extension to schedule radon inspections and take the steps needed for mitigation.
