Nicollet County Environmental Health will be giving away free short-term Radon testing kits beginning Thursday.
Nicollet Environmental/Community Health says radon is the leading environmental cause of deaths in the US and more than 21,000 lung cancer deaths are attributed to the element.
200 kits will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. Jesse Harmon, the Environmental Health Director, recommends that people call first to make sure they're still available since they're taken quickly.
