Ouray County schools were tested 10 years ago and were found to have high levels of radon and were mitigated. However, follow up testing was performed last year and high levels were found once again.
More sophisticated testing equipment was recently installed and results should be available this week. If high levels are found, the school hopes to remediate the levels this summer while class is not in session.
