Elevated radon levels have been found in three Carson Valley schools and a Lake Tahoo school.
Carson Valley Middle School, Gardnerville Elementary, Pau-Wa-Lu Middle School, and Whittell High School had levels above the EPA's recommended action level of 4.0 picocuries per liter.
Some of the schools tested marginally, so continuous radon monitors have been installed to further assess the levels.
HVAC adjustments and remediation are in process.
