As part of Morgan County radon awareness programs in 2008, 150 people returned short-term tests for radon. Of those, 37 percent had radon levels of 4 picoCuries per liter of air or higher, the cutoff for those who need to find a way to keep the gas from getting into homes, and 7 percent had results above 10 picoCuries.
The Colorado State University Extension service is offering classes to help homeowners to measure the level of radon in their homes and learn how to mitigate if the levels are high.
