The Southern Illinois Radon Task Force is offering 175 homeowners in the Belleville, Swansea, Caseyville, O'Fallon, Shiloh, Lebanon and Red Bud areas free radon testing.
To be considered for free testing, people must submit a postcard with their name, address and telephone number to the City Hall in one of the communities above. You may also e-mail the above information to radontest@charter.net. All entries must be received by Feb. 28.
Each submission will be entered in a drawing, and 25 from each community will be chosen the first week of March. Those not chosen for a free test will be eligible to have their home tested at a 40 percent discount -- $75 compared with $125.
