A Portland resident was shocked to discover radon concentrations in her home that were more than 25 times the EPA recommended action level.
Homes in northwest Oregon are at increased risk from the gas, which results from the natural decay of soil and rocks. Furthermore, as homes are becoming more energy efficient, higher levels of the gas may be trapped inside.
