As part of Radon Action Month, the Health Department and the state Department of Environmental Protection are raising awareness about the dangers of radon.
Current data shows that in Washington Township, almost 1 in 2 homes tested have elevated levels of radon. Radon levels vary from house to house, so the only way to determine if your home exceeds the action level is to test it for radon.
The Health Department offers radon kits at $10 per canister.
