Residents Decry Proposal To Nearly Double Water Rates


A United Water spokesmen said that the rate increase is needed to finance more than $57 million in investments the company has made over the past 13 years, and also to cover gas, electric and chemical costs that have increased more than 200 percent during that period. A site for a facility that would extract radon from the water has not been agreed upon.
