The Logan County Health Department is distributing free radon testing kits after the county was identified as one of 49 in Illinois to have a radon level higher than average. The average indoor radon level in Logan County was recorded at 6.3 picocuries of radon per liter of air. DeWitt (4.1), McLean (7.1), Macon (4.3), Menard (6.7), Sangamon (5.3) and Tazewell (8.4) all had elevated rates.
